Back when I was in college I painted a picture with oil and pencil on board based on the short lived television incarnation of Planet of the Apes. Several years ago, someone suggested that I should think about re-exploring an older piece and I thought this would be a good one to do that with. I originally thought it would be a straight up re-do but as I worked on it, it decided to keep changing. For what it's worth, I hope you like it. Enjoy!
One of my all time favorites, the original Planet of the Apes!! Yeah, I know the quote up top is from the sequel, but it's too good not to use.
Another collaboration between my iPhone and my desktop computer. Most of the work being done on my phone and it sat there for a really long time too as I was so dissatisfied with how it was turning out in the early stages. My reference was blurred and was too low in resolution but in the end, I think that helped with the "rougher" look. Enjoy!
Another fine example of me needing a technology upgrade. Like my Tom Riddle picture recently, I also did this on my old first generation iPad. Which means it may not be printable at the full size. Very ironic that it should be a picture of The Six Million Dollar Man, the technological marvel of 1974! I was rewatching a few old episodes recently and it actually dawned on me how funny certain aspects of the show were. In one scene, Steve Austin is in his familiar running suit in a gym doing curls with his bionic arm. I suddenly realized that he doesn't need to be doing that!! It was just so the audience can be reminded of how much he could lift with a bionic arm since the weights were clearly labeled. Too funny! Enjoy!
