Ron Swanson!

“That is a canvas sheet, the most versatile object known to man. It can be used to make tents, backpacks, shoes, stretchers, sails, tarpaulins, and I suppose, in the most dire of circumstances, it can be a surface on which to make art.”

Any Ron Swanson fans out there? I thought this would be a fun face to practice more oil painting. 

I rubbed a blue/green imprimatura onto the drawing and let that dry. 

Then I blocked in my shadows in two thin layers of burnt umber. I forgot to actually take a picture of that part so here is a quick digital mockup I used when planning that stage. I began painting wet in wet at this point.
