Tom Tyler: Captain Marvel!

 

Back to Captain Marvel. Here is my drawing of Tom Tyler as Captain Marvel on a 11x14 canvas. Tom Tyler was the first person to portray a superhero on film and it stands the test of time! Here we go!

With the drawing fixed, I toned my canvas and washed in my underpainting.

The initial pass of laying in color is still the part where I am the most unsure of myself. While I was mostly happy with the results so far, I was uneasy about part of the forehead, so I went back to my sketchbook for a further study. I wasn't overly concerned with the likeness for it tho.

I have some positive take a ways with it but I am ready to try again with another painting. Shazam!
